S&P 500 e-mini futures (ES) climbed 1.6% in early Asian trade Thursday, pointing to a record open above 7280 if the gains hold through the New York session, as the trio of upside surprises from Microsoft, Alphabet and Meta delivered the strongest after-hours technology print of the calendar year. Nasdaq 100 futures (NQ) outperformed at +2.3%, while Dow futures (YM) added a more modest 0.6% reflecting the heavy non-tech weighting.
The composite mega-cap tech market-cap impact came to roughly $560 billion across MSFT (+$260B), GOOGL/GOOG (+$165B), META (+$160B) before being partially offset by Amazon's after-hours decline of approximately $80 billion. The aggregate net of $480 billion would represent the second-largest single-night earnings-driven move in U.S. equity history, behind only the November 2024 cycle peak.
