Bitcoin (BTC) climbed 1.0% to $82,089 on Wednesday, its highest price since January 31 and within striking distance of the all-time high of $84,200 set on January 15. The move came as broad risk appetite surged on US-Iran peace deal optimism, strong tech earnings, and continued institutional inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs.
Bitcoin dominance — the percentage of total crypto market capitalization held in BTC — rose to 60.0%, up from 58.2% a month ago, as larger-cap assets outperformed altcoins during the latest rally leg. The total crypto market capitalization reached $3.28 trillion, its highest since early February.
ETF Inflows Accelerate
US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $532 million in net inflows on Monday, bringing the weekly total through Wednesday to $1.14 billion. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led with $335 million in Monday inflows, followed by Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) at $184 million. Total net assets across all 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs have now surpassed $100 billion — a milestone that took just 16 months to achieve.
IBIT alone holds $91.2 billion in assets, making it the largest commodity-linked ETF in the world by AUM, surpassing the SPDR Gold Trust (GLD) which holds $86.4 billion. BlackRock CEO Larry Fink has repeatedly called Bitcoin 'digital gold' and noted that IBIT has become the fastest-growing ETF in history by asset accumulation.
