Wall Street's most consequential earnings week of 2026 begins Monday with $11.4 trillion of combined market capitalization scheduled to report. Meta Platforms reports Wednesday after the close, followed by Microsoft and Alphabet on Thursday, then Apple and Amazon together on Friday afternoon. Tesla, ServiceNow, Visa, Mastercard, Caterpillar, Boeing, ExxonMobil, and Chevron are also on the docket — 138 S&P 500 companies in total.
The stakes for the index are enormous. The Magnificent Seven now account for approximately 33% of S&P 500 weight and roughly 47% of expected first-quarter earnings growth. Bank of America strategist Savita Subramanian estimates that an aggregate Mag-7 in-line print would still require the rest of the index to grow earnings 8.4% just to meet the consensus 11.4% blended figure.
AI Revenue Becomes the Story
The dominant theme will be whether the unprecedented capital expenditure on AI infrastructure — collectively running at an annualized $410 billion across the four hyperscalers — is translating into measurable revenue acceleration. Microsoft's Azure growth, Alphabet's Google Cloud, and Amazon AWS will each be scrutinized line by line.
"The buyside is willing to fund another two quarters of capex acceleration if revenue validates the thesis," said JPMorgan strategist Mislav Matejka in a note Saturday. "If hyperscaler cloud revenue comes in below expectations, we believe Mag-7 multiples re-rate by 8 to 12 percent."
Apple Faces a Different Test
Apple's test is structural rather than cyclical. Services revenue must grow at least 13% to support consensus, while iPhone unit growth — challenged by a maturing China market — needs to come in flat to slightly positive. Bloomberg consensus expects services at 14.2% growth and iPhone revenue down 1.8% year over year.
Options markets are pricing implied moves of 5.4% for Meta, 4.8% for Amazon, 4.1% for Microsoft, 3.9% for Alphabet, and 3.4% for Apple — all well above their respective 12-month historical averages. A combined Mag-7 implied move of approximately ±$310 billion in market value is among the largest single-week earnings risk concentrations on record.
